The Speech Hive offers a range of specialised, bespoke training packages including the following:

Dysphagia care and nursing home training

This training package is designed to equip healthcare professionals and caregivers with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively recognise and manage swallowing difficulties within their scope of practice. Through interactive workshops, case studies and hands-on exercises, participants will learn about the anatomy and physiology of swallowing, signs and symptoms of swallowing difficulties and strategies to support individuals with swallowing difficulties.

Conference/study days

The Speech Hive can attend conferences and offer study days focused on a variety of topics related to adult speech and language therapy.

Who we train: The training packages are largely provided to:

  • Healthcare professionals

  • Students (e.g. speech therapists, nurses, physicians, other professionals)

  • Carers (e.g. care and nursing home staff, caregivers)

  • Family members

Preventative voice care training

This training package is designed for specific groups of voice users who have high levels of occupational vocal demands e.g. teachers, singers, contact centre workers. Preventative voice care education can be a means of reducing professional voice users’ risk of developing voice disorders. This training gives professional voice users the opportunity to invest in their long-term career by increasing their understanding of vocal care and by offering practical strategies to improve vocal health.
